I’m a third-generation lighting representative and began my career in 2002. I feel fortunate that the family members before me laid a strong foundation built on ethics, honor, and hard work. Over the years, this industry has taught me so much—not only about lighting, but also about service, leadership, and life.
What I enjoy most are the people and the connections I’ve made along the way. The vendors we represent, the customers we serve, and the many others I’ve met throughout my career have all shaped my success. I’m especially grateful to be part of the first-class team at BC Lighting Group.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my wife Lauren and two children, Hays and Olivia. I also enjoy golfing, coaching basketball, or working in the yard. We live in Charleston, SC, and love traveling together whenever we get the chance.

I grew up surrounded by lighting—it’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father has been in the business for decades, and watching him build relationships and share his knowledge inspired me to follow in his footsteps. Today, as a sales representative with BC Lighting Group, I’m proud to carry that legacy forward by helping people find the right lighting to make their spaces shine.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors—gardening, camping, traveling, or fishing—or at home spending time with my English Mastiff.

Although I am new to the lighting industry, I come with a keen interest and somewhat parallel background in the Men's lifestyle and apparel industry. Most of my career has been with lifestyle brand Peter Millar, where I specialized in shaping brand strategy, cultivating partnerships, and driving growth across wholesale, retail, and digital channels. I’m excited for the opportunity to help bring beautiful, well-crafted lighting into people’s homes via building great relationships with the many talented designers in the Carolinas.
Outside of work, I’m a weekend golfer with my husband, a curious traveler who dreams of adding more stamps to my passport and an Uber driver to my super social 14 yr old stepdaughter ; ). My stepson is in his 2nd year at High Point University and we also have an energetic Labradoodle named Hogan.

martin Blackley (Principal)
Little did I know that my minimum-wage job at a local lighting showroom with a small electrical counter in the 1970s would spark a journey that continues to this day.
As a showroom manager and buyer, I loved previewing the latest designs released by the handful of lighting manufacturers at the time, and anticipating which pieces would best resonate with my customers and designer base.
Eventually, I was fortunate to join my favorite rep agency, where I’ve had the privilege of representing top-quality lighting and fan manufacturers to showrooms and specifiers.
If there’s one constant in my thirty-four years as a rep, it’s change. I’ve seen multiple evolutions of light sources—each requiring new and innovative ways to house, display, and perform their function. Today, our industry has evolved into a fast-paced cycle of product launches, with lighting now firmly established as part of the fashion world.

I’m in my third year in the lighting industry and proud to be part of BC Lighting Group, a team known for representing top-quality manufacturers and building lasting relationships in the industry. What I enjoy most about my work is helping clients find solutions! Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to build many great friendships—with colleagues, clients, and partners alike—which makes the work even more rewarding.
Outside of the office, I love being near the ocean and spending time outdoors. My hobbies include riding horses and dirt bikes, as well as caring for (and spoiling) my chickens.
